Binge Or Cringe: Did Karenjit Kaur 2 Succeed In Engaging The Audience?
Sunny Leone’s Karenjit Kaur 2 is currently streaming on Zee 5. What do we think about it? Watch the video to know
Season 2, like
season 1, is a biographical drama which traces Sunny’s life after she’s out in
the open about her profession. This Season starts with Sunny making peace with
her career choice but she is met with 3 different issues in her life.
It’s election
time in the US and George Bush is running for office, and his election would
mean permanent full stop on Sunny’s job as Bush presidency is totally against
the porn industry. The second issue is personal where Sunnny’s boyfriend/fiancé
is cheating on her. Sunny breaks up with him and starts to spend time with her
ailing mom. Amidst all this, she meets Daniel who stands by her like a rock
during her crisis. And the third issue is with Sunny’s family, where the
actress’ mom is unable to overcome her alcohol addiction and blames Sunny’s
career choice for it. Eventually, Sunny suffers a huge loss as her mother
passes away due to an infected liver.
Talking about the
cast, Grusha Kapoor makes a meal of her character and gives a powerful
performance as the ailing mother exploring her bond with her daughter, whose
career choice she doesn’t approve of. Sunny looks much more at ease in season 2
as she gets to play an older Karenjit. Her changing bond with her mother and
her eventual death and the fallout with her fiancé are very well portrayed by
Sunny Leone. Other characters also do their part.
Karenjit Kaur 2
is a very well-rounded season. Better emotions, performances and writing. It
has ladai, jhagda, nafrat, guilt, drama and lots of realisation. However, it
could have been shorter and the makers should have been more careful about
continuity issues. Overall, it’s a good closure to Sunny’s story. Our verdict:
Bingeworthy!
